Play the successor to Raptor
Pilot a spaceship through a horde of scrolling nasties with DemonStar. Created by ionos, the same team that produced Raptor, DemonStar brings the arcade home with plenty of flash and sizzle. Pilot a small, fast ship through various space and ground attack sequences, destroying whatever flies toward you, using lasers and missiles and avoiding return fire. Find powerups that provide faster fire, spread guns, or an entirely new weapon with which to wage your one-man war. The graphics are easily on par with the better games in this genre, with smooth animation and fast frame rates (even on a slow Pentium). The sound effects are equally convincing, and the music is from the same guy responsible for the Doom and Duke Nukem 3D music. DemonStar is a challenging blast-fest and truly fun, if not all that original. It's definitely worth a look for any action fan. This version has not yet been reviewed.
